Stockholm: KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Architecture, Osquars backe 5An analysis of the cultural 'contaminations' that have influenced Southern Italy, the course focused on the Itria Valley area, exploring this region of great historical and architectural interest, where fragments of ancient cultures are enclosed within the city walls. In this context, the students explored the urban complexity of the city of Ostuni and its surroundings, questioning and searching for a model of contemporary development outside the city walls, starting from the redevelopment of the social, historical and landscape heritage.
The aim of the course was to produce a selection of solutions at the urban/architectural scale in response to social change. To develop these proposals, the students carried out an initial survey in Ostuni in October 2015 with the guidance of the Corsaro Architetti studio.
The project proposals resulting from this collaboration were exhibited in Ostuni and Stockholm.
