Architects meet in Selinunte - 7th Edition

Today, the way we understand our work as architects is changing. Planning is increasingly confronted with art, design, new disciplines, new knowledge and an economy that imposes unexpected forms and unusual spatial relationships.
However, the call to return to the past is ever stronger. And, so while everything is being transformed, there are calls to build and rebuild where it was and how it was, as if nothing had happened. The changes have particularly affected the way we see and organise inhabited space. The centre of things has been lost and what had been considered collateral, marginal, has gained interest and new centrality.
During the seventh edition of Architects meet in Selinunte and the sixth edition of the Selinunte Summer School, these questions were addressed: how is it possible to think of reconstructing the centre, forgetting that what is collateral has become increasingly important? How can we reconstruct systems of relations that recent history has already severely compromised? How can the territory be valorised today?
